| As a country that hate the English so much, why do you have a holiday called Queens Birthday? And why the fuck is it NOT on the Queens birthday?
Boxing Day, what the fuck is that? You drunktards fight each other all year long, you need a special day to do it too?
Australia "the land of the long weekend" yet you have fewer public holidays than workers in most other industrialised countries.
You can't even agree on WHEN to have your holidays. Take Labour day: WA - 1st Monday in March. TAS and VIC - 2nd Monday in March. ACT, NSW and SA - 1st Monday in October. Qld and NT - 1st Monday in May. Why can't you fuckwits just have it on May 1st like most of the bloody world?
Please explain, ohhhhh you-who-know-all.
PS: What's this shit with driving on the WRONG side of the road? |

In case you didn't know, in the history of time, there have been more than one Queen (and King, for that matter) Even in the UK, they celebrate The Queen's birthday the beginning of June. A general day for people to get knighthoods, blah-blah. Always celebrated here on a Monday, so we have a long weekend. (Not that it applies to me

We live on an Island paradise.....every day is a holiday. (I should be an ambassador for the Aus tourism board.

Each state has their own individual parliaments too, you know. They make the decisions.

Australia is still a part of the Commonwealth, the British Empire, for lack of a better word.
We are not a republic...yet....all countries part of the British Empire have Queen's Birthday as a public holiday, as far as I know. Even Fiji, and they ARE independent. |

No, we take their holidays so we can have a day off work.
And laugh at the irony that 200 years ago, they had to be dragged here kicking and screaming, and in chains, and today they''re knocking down the door and paying good money to stay here. |
